CARP Labs at the MIX
CARP Labs Research Development
The Character Assassination and Reputation Politics (CARP) Research Lab at GMU is focused on the interdisciplinary research of character assassination in historical and current affairs. It was founded in 2016 in cooperation with the International Society for the Study of Character Assassination (ISSCA). With researchers from psychology, history, communication, and public relations, the CARP Labs team from both George Mason University and the University of Amsterdam are actively producing content for conferences, publications, media, and more.
On March 18th, 2025, CARP Labs used the MIX Media Lab photo/video studio equipment and the podcast booth to record educational videos. Prof. Eric Shiraev (CARP President) and Dr. Martijn Icks (University of Amsterdam), with the help of CARP intern and MIX student staff member, Raghu Manjunatha, are producing a research lecture series, that incorporate video segments and voiceovers with slides and animations to enhance engagement and understanding.
