Past Student Entrepreneur, Sai Srivatsav Gutala
Sai Srivatsav Gutala, a 2023 graduate from George Mason University, has been a catalyst for innovation and entrepreneurship on campus. In 2019, he co-founded the Inventors and Innovations Team (IIT), a student club focused on fostering creativity and project development. Gutala also founded HackOverflow, a hardware hackathon that stands out for its focus on physical prototypes rather than coding. This event utilized Mason Innovation Exchange's equipment, making it one of the few hardware hackathons in the country. Gutala's influence extended to entrepreneurship as well, with the establishment of his company, Alphawave, dedicated to customizable apparel. His initial focus on customizable footwear exemplifies his goal of using technology for personal self-expression. Gutala's impact also reached the university's incubator program, where he utilized resources like the Innovation Commercialization Assistance Program (ICAP) to understand his ideal customers. His dedication underscores his mission to bring innovation and creative thinking to positively impact the world.
