Electronics

The MIX Soldering and Electronics station has been a main workspace for many RSO’s such as GMU HyperNova and GMU High Power Rocketry, Mechanical Engineering courses, MIX Robot Night, MIX Robotics Prototyping Short Course, and more. The MIX offers introductory workshops on Soldering Basics as well as expanded interdisciplinary workshops such as Stained Glass and Soldering for Jewelry.

Getting Started with Electronics:

The basic requirement to use the electronics section at the MIX is to take the Soldering and Electronics Basics Workshop

  • The MIX has a soldering station, with USB microscope and a reflow tool

  • The MIX has oscilloscopes, function generators, multi-meters, and other electronics tools for use within the MIX

  • The MIX has some basic electronics components, such as resistors, switches, wires and sensors that you can use for your project. Please be respectful and supply the parts that you need.

  • The MIX Soldering and Electronics workshop is required before using the soldering iron.

  • If you are interested in learning more advanced electronics skills, programming, or robotics, please come to Robot Night at the MIX.
