How to Join the Incubator

Completion of an Entrepreneurship Program
Participation and completion of an I-Corps, ICAP, or Lean Entrepreneurship Program are required to join the Incubator. Applications for the Fall 2022 MIX ICAP program are now open!

Top Place in Entrepreneurship Competitions
If you have received one of the top places in a Mason-led Hackathon or Mason-organized pitch competition, you could qualify for utilizing the Incubator.

Senior Capstone Project: Self-balancing, Path Tracking, Delivery Robot
Undergraduate students in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering developed and completed their Senior Capstone Project for their Senior Advanced Design Project II course in the MIX Incubator. The team included Johann Cheng, Elhoussein Dedahi, Carolyn Grace Holland, Javier Ordonez, and Isaac Putla (shown in the photo) and Walid Elouassi and Leighton Good.

George Siragusa is a coach, mentor and adviser to startup founders, growth and venture Company CEOs and their teams serving as a Senior Business Counselor at the George Mason's Enterprise Center’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC). George has advised hundreds of companies on Lean Start Up Principles, business strategy, strategic marketing, customer acquisition, sales development, channel management, leadership, team building, financial projections, investor preparations and organizational design and much more. George also is an Adjunct Professor at George Mason University’s School of Engineering where he leads a required course entitled “Entrepreneurship for Engineers and Scientists.
George’s vast and deep experience spans two parallel 30+-year careers as both a former Global C-Suite Executive at ExxonMobil, as a commissioned U.S. Naval Officer. George has served as adviser and mentor for three Northern Virginia Area Accelerators (Smart City Works, Inova Health Personal Health Care and Mach 37) and has been an entrepreneur himself serving on the board of a small, boutique marketing consulting firm in Florida. George is a Mentor-in-Residence at the MIX on Fairfax Campus.

Mentor in Residence
Rashed Hasan brings a wealth of experience in executive management with experience in technology startups, general management, strategy consulting, and senior management oversight in operations, finance, organizational development, manufacturing, and engineering.
Rashed is the Founder and Chairman of Nantuit LLC, a boutique business and technology strategy and software development company, based in Alexandria, VA. He co-founded and led Sentrana Inc, a data analytics and predictive technology company for nine years in the role of Board Member, Chief Operating Office, and Chief Financial Officer as well as head of technology, client services, organizational development, and administration.
Prior to technology startups, he spent ten years in strategy and operational consulting for premier management consulting firms such as Booz Allen & Hamilton and Ernst & Young, LLP. He consulted major global companies in different industrial sectors as Ford Motor Company, CNN, Pfizer, Lucas Aerospace, Texas Utilities, Alyeska Pipeline, among others.
