Getting Started with Sewing:

The basic requirements to use the sewing machines, embroidery machines, or the vinyl cutter and heat press is to take the appropriate workshop

  • The MIX has 8 sewing machines, capable of basic stitches and making stuff

  • 2 serger machines

  • (2) Brother CS900 Automated Embroidery machines are available for use at the MIX. The necessary software is Inkscape and the plug-in called Inkstitch. Both are available for free online.

  • The MIX provides basic necessities, such as thread, needles, scissors, pins, etc. The MIX will also provide all materials necessary to participate in the orientation and training workshops. After completing the workshops, users will need to provide their own materials for projects.
