3D Printer Building
At the MIX, we host a variety of 3D printing brands, and one of the most popular is the Vuron, an enclosed 3D printer available in multiple sizes. Known for its versatility, the Vuron has produced successful prints across both large and small scales. One of the unique aspects of building a Vuron printer from scratch is that many of the components must be 3D printed themselves.
James Hope, a Senior Makerspace Associate at the MIX and a true 3D printing enthusiast, has used his extensive experience building Vuron printers to create a hands-on workshop series. In this series, participants can watch James assemble these printers in real time, from the ground up, gaining invaluable insight into the assembly process, troubleshooting, and fine-tuning.
The workshops offer a rare opportunity to learn directly from an expert, with James guiding participants through the detailed steps of constructing a high-performance 3D printer. This process not only enhances participants’ understanding of 3D printing technology but also fosters a sense of community and collaboration as users can see firsthand the precision and craftsmanship involved in building a Vuron printer from scratch.
