High Power Rocketry at the MIX
High Power Rocketry was started one year ago by Joseph Daly, the current President, to serve as an organization for students to compete in rocketry competitions, advance professionally, and benefit its student body and the engineering programs as a whole. This past weekend on March 22nd, they held Flight Day in collaboration with AIAA/ Aero Club (American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics). Participants were tasked to build their own small model rockets with a kit and small group construction, which culminated into low-altitude launches at the Mason West Campus lot.
The High Power Rocketry Club uses the MIX as their main meeting space for educational, community, and prototyping development. If you are interested in knowing more about their weekly activities, they meet at the MIX (Horizon Hall 1408) every Friday from 1pm.
