MIX at NoVa Maker Faire '24
The MIX has been invited to participate with a table at this year’s NoVa Maker Faire 2024.
MIX inventions created by users, members of hosted clubs, staff and GMU faculty and affiliates were on display at this year's NoVa Maker Faire, held at the City of Alexandria High School in VA on Oct 20th, 10-4pm.
The School of Art & Design’s (SOA) Ben Ashworth assisted with the transport and setup of the table and activities driving the SOA van to and from the faire in Alexandria.
Participants included creations by GMU’s:

* The Fencing Club (RSO) Electronic Foils and Demo Tournament Performance
* The HyperNova Electronic Car Club (RSO) research and development with the electronic car’s mechanics and body and the School of Art & Design students/staff)
* MIX Student Regulars: Micah Daniel Weisenberger’s laptop cooling system,
* Luke Benjamin Baja-ricketts’ custom 10’ tall Trebuchet
* Colin Jackson’s 3‘ tall 6 axis robot arm
* MIX Staff-run Robotics Activities with Draw-bots and Nav-bots: Tan Chau and Vishvajit Senthilkumar
* Free Give-Away’s in the form of 3D Prints and other fabricated fun
* Griffon Dillon - Managing transport, set up, booth maintenance, take down
* Brandon Manlapaz Miranda’s Custom CosPlay Constructions (at NoVa Labs CosPlay booth)
* Summer High School Intern, Jannah Chowdhury’s, interactive trash-can employing an Arduino and ping ultrasonic range-finding sensor
