More than 20 Mason students were accepted in the MIX Student Innovator Mastermind program for spring that kicked off on Friday, February 21st. These ambitious students will spend the next 12 weeks learning the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and how to launch and scale their business ventures.

In Spring 2024, Lisa Shapiro, Assistant Director of the MIX, created the accelerate program to assist students who are first-time founders, and seek to create and grow a business venture – but need additional support. Regardless of their major, school, department, or year, this dynamic community of now dozens of driven student innovators come together weekly to move forward on growing their business. The majority of the students are computer science or engineering majors, but there are a few others studying art and Global Commerce and Policy.

The Mastermind helps to supercharge their ideas through peer-to-peer collaboration and shared wisdom by being a part of a community of like-minded go-getters. They get valuable entrepreneurial advice by meeting and hearing from experts each week to teach them entrepreneurship fundamentals, grow their network, and to learn about helpful resources smoothing their path to success.   https://www.mix.gmu.edu/mastermind
